World Adivasi Day celebrated in Potka

Jamshedpur, Aug 9: World Adivasi Day was celebrated with traditional spirit and gusto in Potka Block’s Pariawaran Chetna Kendra today. The Adivasi community resolved to live by and protect their motto of Water, Jungle and Land (Jal, Jungle, Zameen). “The step motherly attitude still being shown to us will have to stop. By celebrating World Adivasi Day we are also expressing our protest under the umbrella of international unity of Adivasis,” stated a senior participant in the programme.

The programme commenced with garlanding of the statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The function had an exciting ending with artistes of Bada Sigdi Sanskritik Susar Akhara presenting traditional dances. Among the dignitaries present were Bibhshan Sardar, Baby Patar, Praffulo Samad, Praffulo Varda, Sukhdev Hansda, Arati Samad, Sunita Sardar, Jyotsna Sardar and others.
