Workshop on Uranium and its uses held in Narwa Pahar

Jamshedpur: A one day workshop on uranium and its importance was held at Sidhu Kanhu Memorial High School, Kedo, in Narwa Pahar on Friday. A quiz contest on atomic energy was also held on the occasion.

The additional superintendent of UCIL Diwakar Gaur and deputy manager Stalin Hembram informed children about the benefits and uses of uranium. They also enlightened the kids on the future of uranium. He said the main purpose behind organizing the workshop was to remove misconceptions about uranium from the minds of the people and create awareness among the youth.

The school principal Banwari Lal Das praised the UCIL officials for organizing the campaign. He said such events would help create greater awareness on uranium and its significance among the masses.
Among those present on the occasion included vice principal of the school Sushil Kumar Soren, Duluram Sardar, Ardha Hembram, Murari Mohan Bhagat, Rajni Kant Mahato, Asha Mahato, Jyoti Mundu, Joba Soren, Meena Murmu and Subodh Kumar Munda.
