Ranchi: BJP has fixed a target to make 50 lakhs new members in Jharkhand. The central leadership has set the target for party’s membership drive in the State.

However with the active participation of the party workers the BJP would be able to induct more members above the set target by March 31, in-charge of membership drive in Jharkhand Anant Ojha said.

Ojha was speaking at the review meeting of the ongoing membership drive held at Sarla Birla Auditorium at Tatisilwai. About 1100 party workers attended the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion former chief minister Arjun Munda said that party workers are the backbone of BJP. Besides mobile phone campaign, the party workers must visit door-to-door to make the membership drive a success.

With this the party would be able to make further contacts with the people, he said. On the occasion national organization general secretary Soudan Singh said that the party leadership had taken a decision to launch the membership campaign after the last Lok Sabha election.

If the party workers are able to induct more members the target would be achieved, he said.
