Workers of Nilanchal Iron and Power Limited demand lockdown period salary

Jamshedpur : Temporary workers of Nilanchal Iron and Power Limited located in Ratanpur Raghunathpur under Kandra police station have not received salary for the month of April during the lockdown period. Hundreds of contract labourers of the company blocked the company’s gate on Tuesday, demanding April pay and regular work opportunities.

In the application to the company management and in-charge of Kandra police station, the workers have alleged that hundreds of laborers are temporarily working in the company under the banner of Tribal Welfare Committee, Maa Thakurine Enterprises and Displaced and Affected Committee NIPL.

All these workers have not been given the salary for the month of April, while other workers working under other contractors in the company are getting regular salary. In such a situation, it has become difficult to survive. They demanded immediate clearance of dues.
