DC adopts Tetla panchayat of Potka, promises overall development
Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner (DC) on Saturday adopted Tetla panchayat under Potka block. He made the announcement during the inauguration of an anganbari-cum-nursery school in Tetla. The chief guest of the event was Potka MLA Menka Sardar.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said the panchayat would be developed on an expeditious basis. She asked all officials of the district administration to adopt one panchayat each in a similar way and ensure their overall development. She said if a target is set to ensure equal development of all panchayats, the entire state would be developed very soon. She asked the officials to focus on problems related to drinking water, pension and irrigation.
The DC said he had become one of the members of Tetla panchayat after the adoption. He said the problems being faced by the villagers would be identified and resolved soon. He said Johar scheme was launched in Jharkhand on the occasion of its foundation day by President Ram Nath Kovind.
�The government wants to link people with agriculture as well as with self employment activities so that they become economically independent. Loan up to Rs 4 lakh would be given to women associated with self help groups. Every family would be given a health insurance coverage of Rs 2 lakh under Mukhyamantri Health Insurance Scheme. Camps would soon be held in this regard,� said the DC.
Also present during the programme, Zila Parishad president Bulurani Singh said efforts should be made to make Tetla a model panchayat. She said the government officials should work sincerely so that the state develops at a faster rate.
