Jamshedpur, July 7: A new wooden bridge, designed as a canopy bridge, has been completed in the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary, offering tourists a unique opportunity to observe animals and birds up close. Initially scheduled to open in February 2024, administrative delays have postponed its public debut until now, leaving eager tourists waiting.
Constructed using local trees, the 100-meter-long bridge stands at a height of 15 feet and has been built at a cost of approximately Rs 40 lakh. Inspired by similar structures in Karnataka’s forests, known for offering breathtaking wildlife views, the bridge aims to enhance visitors’ nature experiences.
According to SR Natesh, Chief Forest Conservator, the bridge will accommodate up to five people at a time, charging a fee of Rs 250 per person. Closed during bird breeding season from March to September, it will welcome tourists from October to February, promising a serene journey akin to walking amidst the treetops while providing intimate encounters with forest inhabitants.
