Ranchi, July 7: The monsoon trough is currently passing through Daltenganj in Jharkhand, with a cyclonic area forming in southwestern Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and adjoining regions. The effects of this system are expected to influence the weather in Jharkhand in the coming days, according to the Ranchi-based India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Chief Meteorologist Abhishek Anand stated that light rainfall might occur in parts of Jharkhand on Monday and Tuesday, July 8 and 9. The maximum temperature is expected to gradually increase by 2 to 3 degrees over the next three days, with no significant change anticipated thereafter.
Anand also mentioned the possibility of thunderstorms in some areas of Jharkhand on Sunday. In the past 24 hours, the state experienced light to moderate rains with thunderstorms, and some areas witnessed heavy rainfall. However, overall monsoon activity remained weak in the state during this period.
Kushiyari in Dumka received the highest rainfall of 112 mm over the last 24 hours. Seraikela recorded the highest maximum temperature at 36.5 degrees Celsius, while Ranchi had the lowest minimum temperature at 24 degrees Celsius.
From June 1 to July 7, Ranchi received 177.7 mm of rainfall, Jamshedpur 76.5 mm, Daltonganj 139 mm, Bokaro-Thermal 231 mm, and Chaibasa 97.5 mm. In the last 24 hours, many districts, including Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Daltonganj, did not receive any rain. The monsoon rain deficit in Jharkhand has now reduced to 49 percent, with the state recording a total of 129.3 mm of rainfall so far.
