Jamshedpur: The women of Jharkhand need to be empowered in order to pave way for a prosperous and stronger state. Their well-being and welfare is directly linked to the development of the state.
This was observed by Menka Sardar, MLA of Potka, after the inauguration of an office of Ajivika Mahila Sankul Sangathan in Asanbani. The legislator was invited as the chief guest of the event.
Addressing the gathering, the MLA said the Rural Development Department of Jharkhand government had sent a fund of Rs 50,000 to each of the 50 women’s self help groups in the block for empowerment and self-employment. The funds have been allotted to fund self employment plans of such women such as opening poultry farm, pig farm, goat farm and rearing other animals of economic importance, she said.
Many people were present on the occasion. They included Anita Murmu, Pratima Rani Mandal, Karunamay Mandal, Diksha Devi, Shiv Kumar, Kishor Ram, Hitu Rani Bhakt and Prabhat Kumar.
