Women�s cooperation in empowerment positive sign for community: Tibrewal

Jamshedpur, March 14: The second edition of Jharkhand Prantiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan (JPMMS) took place at the Tulsi Bhawan in Bistupur today. National president of Marwari Mahila Sammelan Usha Kiran Tibrewal, national secretary Pushpa Golchha, state president Aruna Bhagania, state secretary Santosh More, former national president Jaya Dokania, Aruna Jain, Lata Agrawal, former state president Sangita Sultania, Nira Bartwal, Rupa Agrawal, Bina Khirwal, Anita Agrawal, incumbent state president Renu Dudani and the Jamshedpur branch president Vibha Dudani were present on the dais and were welcomed with Tulsi leaves.

All members present took a pledge to exercise their voting powers during the upcoming LS elections and start an awareness campaign to empower women and exercise their right to franchise. The plan to expand the organization by inducting more women of the Marwari community into its fold was also discussed in the course of the meeting.

The proceedings commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp in front of the idol of Lord Ganesha.

Giving a brief on the two shades of Devi Sita, the national president of Marwari Mahila Sammelan Usha Kiran Tibrewal from Assam observed in her speech, �A woman�s strength is her identity. It is imperative for women to develop their mental prowess to gain more empowerment. The vision for expansion of women�s powers and rights are widening as more and more educated women of our community are coming to the fore. The age old concept of a woman being an enemy of another woman has been trashed long ago. Women are cooperating with one another and this is a positive sign for our community. Educated women are improving their home conditions and enhancing the status of our society.�

The concluding ceremony of the Sammelan was marked by the observance of Holi festivities as participants threw coloured flower petals at one another symbolizing the colours of the festival. The program was anchored by Prabha Paria. The vote of thanks was offered by Bina Agrawal. The Sammelan included the participation of 150 members from Jharkhand state. This information was provided by the organization�s spokesperson Sushila Khirwal. Those present included Kusum Agrawal, Asha Agrawal, Manju Khandelwal, Manju Musaddi, Savita Khirwal, Urmila Mittal, Seema Jawanpuria, Rani Agrawal, Mamta Jalan, Babita Bhavsinhka, Saraswati Agrawal, Seema Agrawal and many others.
