Seraikela: In commemoration of National Pollution Control Day, a program was organized by the Innovation Cell at Women’s College, Seraikela, on Monday. Dr. Sparklin Dei, the College Principal, chaired the event, emphasizing the critical role of pollution control in human civilization.
The Principal conveyed that pollution is a curse for humanity, underscoring the perpetual need to keep it under control. Advocating for a collective effort, she suggested initiating pollution control measures from daily routines. Drawing attention to the ubiquitous use of mobile phones, the Principal cautioned about the potential health risks and increased pollution associated with excessive usage. She encouraged a balanced and judicious use of mobile phones.
Highlighting Ayurvedic research, the Principal shared that soil is beneficial for the human body and does not contribute to pollution. As part of practical suggestions, the students were urged to avoid plastic usage and adopt the use of earthen utensils. Proper waste disposal practices were also emphasized. The Principal called upon the students to raise awareness about pollution and contribute to a cleaner environment.
During the program, college students expressed their views on pollution control. Champa Paul from the Department of Political Science, Chandrashekhar Rai from the History Department, and Dr. Shwetlata from the Hindi Department were among the attendees. The non-teaching staff of the college also participated in the event, reflecting the collective commitment to pollution control.
