Ranchi, March 10: Jharkhand Congress MLA from Mandar Shilpi Neha Tirkey reiterated chief minister Hemant Soren stress on women leveraging benefits of the state government schemes especially MGNREGA.Â
Addressing a program in Ranchi organised by the state rural development department on Friday, Shilpi Neha Tirkey said that there is a need to make women aware to take advantage of the schemes being run by the government. The government has made many efforts for the betterment of women. They have reservations in many places. Legally many rights have been given to women. If necessary, they should take advantage of their rights.
“The development of society is possible only with the development of women. Women are not less than anyone in any field. The dream of an advanced society can never be realized without the advancement of women,” said Shilpi Neha Tirkey.
“Schemes run by MNREGA have paved the way for employment and self-reliance for women. Women are becoming the support of their families by working in schemes like Didi Bari, getting benefited from Didi Bagiya Yojana or by taking advantage of Animal Shed Construction Scheme. This is instilling a new confidence in them, helping them to be financially independent,” said Tirkey.
“Women are working shoulder to shoulder with men and are improving the economic condition of their families. Today thousands of such women at the village level have taken a step towards improving their future, this is a unique example of women empowerment,” added the MLA.
Out of the job cards given to more than 50 lakh families in the state, more than 21 lakh women have been registered.
Jharkhand MNREGA commissioner Rajeshwari B said that without changing oneself the achievement of the target cannot be achieved at any cost.
“It is a matter of great pleasure for the department that women mates and beneficiaries were felicitated on this International Women’s Day. The government thinks that the means of livelihood of women should be increased,” said Rajeshwari.
She said that job cards have been given to more than 50 lakh families in the entire state, out of which more than 21 lakh women are registered, it is a matter of happiness. Work is also being done to increase the participation of women. Women are becoming self-reliant by joining the state government’s ambitious Didi Bari Yojana, Birsa Green Village Scheme.
She also appreciated the work of the Zonal Officer of the Block Development Officer, and gave detailed information about the various schemes being run under MNREGA.
A book related to Birsa Harit Gram Yojana was also released in the programme.
