Jamshedpur, Aug.1: Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur East on Wednesday organised a programme on the occasion of World Breastfeeding Week at Aanganwadi centre in Sonari’s Kapali Basti.
Women who are parents to children below one year attended the workshop. Guest for the occasion was Inner Wheel Club’s CGR Pasam Adeshra. Club Editor Rama Khanna informed the gathering about the importance of breast feeding and there is no alternate to mother’s milk which helps keep the child healthy and disease free. Club members also gave tip as to how mothers should keep themselves healthy during the breastfeeding. Several pregnant ladies also attended the session.
“Baby Show” Contest was also organised by the club at the venue. On the basis of health, hygiene and vaccination children were judged and top three were awarded prizes along with consolation prizes to two other children. Contest judges were Pasam Adeshra and Club’s Charter President Rajashri. At the event Club President Rekha Jha along with other members of the club were present.
