Jamshedpur, August 11: The Central Board for Workers Education (CBWE), the ministry of labour & employment, Panchayats of Jamshedpur & Sarjamda in a combined effort organized a two day seminar on Labour welfare & development for women.
The event took place at the community development centre of Sopodera village on August 10 & 11. The event saw participation of around 40 women.
The programme was inaugurated by chief guest O.M.Meena, director of CBWE eastern region. The event began with the National song ‘Vande Mataram’. Meena said that in today’s world women are gradually advancing and paticipating in more social activities.
They walk parallel to man. Their ability to endure to situations has made them take up any challenges in all fields of life. He mentioned Kiran Bedi, Madam Curie, Mother Teresa like figures to motivate more women and also discussed on women empowerment.
A woman must instil a sense of competition in her mind. The guest of honour for the event was Councillor Rajkumar Singh. Singh lauded the board’s initiative for organizing the programme. The event was presided over by Abhay Narayan Tiwary.
He threw light upon the working of the board. He said,”The board renders services by means of 50 headquarters throughout the country.
Camps are organized in all possible locations be it naxal hit areas or non-naxal hit areas.
We are trying to train labours in all projects like MNREGA, National Health and Livelihood Mission (NHLM), Kaushal Vriddhi Yojana(KVY) and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA). This would enable to maintain a proper demand and supply ratio of dynamic labourers.
