Chaibasa: The Chaibasa Police has nabbed a man accused in a bag snatching case reported in the Sadar police station area on December 20. The incident took place when the criminal snatched a bag from a woman in Dugri.
The bag contained a mobile phone, Rs 3,000 in cash, and important documents. Following a written complaint by the victim, Madhuri Alda, a case (Sadar P.S. Case No. 108/2025) was registered under Section 304 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
On the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, a special raiding team was constituted under the leadership of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Sadar. The team conducted prompt raids and successfully identified and arrested the accused, Ravi Kumar Saw (32), a resident of New Colony, Nimdih, Sadar police station area of West Singhbhum district.
During the arrest, police recovered the stolen blue-coloured OPPO mobile phone, Rs 3,000 in cash, photocopy of Aadhaar card, books, important documents, and the motorcycle used in the crime — a bike bearing registration number JH-06G-3700.
Police records revealed that the accused has a criminal history and had previously been sent to jail in a robbery-related case registered at Muffasil police station. The arrested accused has been sent to judicial custody.
Meanwhile, Chaibasa police have appealed to the public to immediately share any information related to criminal activities with the nearest police station, Dial 112, or the police control room number 9508243546, assuring that the identity of informers will be kept strictly confidential.
