Patna, April 21 (IANS) A woman and her son were shot dead on Tuesday in a village in Bihar’s Begusarai district over a land dispute, police said.
The incident took place in Bakhdada village in the district, about 125 km from here.
“A group of criminals shot dead Kiran Devi, 48, a widow and her son Murari Kumar, 20, on the spot,” a district police official said.
Police have recovered the bodies and sent them for a post mortem examination.
Kiran’s husband was shot dead by his cousins over a land dispute four months ago.
Police said tension prevailed after the incident and additional security forces were deployed to keep a watch on the situation.
Police have lodged a case and begun a probe.
