Woman kills 3 daughters, commits suicide in Seraikela

Chaibasa: In a heart-rending incident, a woman in neighbouring Saraikela district committed suicide after killing her three daughters.

According to reports, the woman gave birth to four daughters and her in-laws were not happy over the issue as they wanted a son. There were regular quarrels in the house over this issue. Distraught, Shatna first killed her three minor daughters Shefali, Deepali and Rupali and dumped the bodies in a nearby well.

The woman first killed her three daughters and after dumping their bodies in a well near the house, she also committed suicide by hanging herself from a tree. After receiving the information, police reached the spot and took possession of the four bodies and sent them for post-mortem. The cause of this incident is being said to be domestic dispute and poverty. The police are investigating the case.
According to the police, the dead woman has been identified as Shatna Hansada (32).

She also wanted to kill the fourth daughter, but she had gone to play in the village at the time of the incident. After carrying out this incident, Shatna went to the forest and made a noose of saree in a tree and hung herself from it.

On the other hand, as soon as the news of the death of four members of the same family reached the village, the sensation spread. The villagers informed the police about the matter. After this, the police reached the spot and took possession of the four bodies and sent them for post-mortem.

According to the police, truck driver Subodh Hansada and his wife Shatna Hansada, who live in Kurkut village in Raghunathpur, had no son. They were also suffering from economic hardship. That is why there were frequent fights between husband and wife. Due to this dispute, the woman has taken this step. The villagers said that the woman was also mentally weak. On the other hand, the mother of the woman has denied any kind of assault or harassment with her.
