Seraikela : Anushika Mahato, a 65-year-old aged woman, died due to drowning in a pond in Changuva village under Rajnagar police station area. The took place on Monday night. Police on Tuesday morning took the body in possession and handed it over to the next of kin. Anushika was unmarried.
In the interrogation of the police, the family said that Anushika had gone out for defecation at around eight o’clock on Monday night. After a long time, when she did not return, they started searching Anushika, a member of the house at nine o’clock. Despite much research around, the old lady Anushika could not be found. The next day, on Tuesday morning, the villagers who had gone to the toilet saw a dead body of a woman floating in the pond.
After which the family identified the woman as Anushika Mahato. After which the local police was informed. Police took the body in possession and handed it over to the next of kin after the post-mortem. The police registered a UD case in this regard.
