Ranchi, Oct 29: In a gruesome incident that transpired late at night, a woman met a horrific demise as she was brutally stoned to death on the streets near Bazaar Tand in the jurisdiction of Bedo police station. The victim has been identified as Poonam Oraon, who earned her livelihood as a laborer.
Upon receiving information about the shocking incident, the police swiftly responded, arriving at the scene to secure the body and initiate a thorough investigation. The victim’s remains will be subjected to a post-mortem examination scheduled for today, Sunday.
Initial information provided by family members indicates an ongoing dispute between their daughter, Poonam Oraon, and their son regarding compensation for a piece of land. The dispute pertained to the compensation for land acquisition, which was related to the construction of the Bedo bypass road. Poonam Oraon, originally hailing from Binay Bagicha in Bedo, had been residing in a rented house beneath the electrical substation at the time of this unfortunate incident.
