Jamshedpur, Nov. 27: AIWC Academy of Excellence, Baridih has been added to the list of existing CBSE plus 2 schools in Jamshedpur.
The school recently acquired the CBSE plus 2 affiliation. �We are proud of our association with CBSE and with plus 2 affiliation now the students of the school and nearby Baridih area will not have to move far away for quality education after their class 10.
The plus 2 affiliation is an important step in the schools chequered expansion and progress�, said Mrs. Srimanti Sen, president AIWC and chairperson of AIWC Academy of Excellence.
Addressing the press conference, Jasbeer Kaur Gill, principal of the school said, AIWC Academy got class 10 affiliation from CBSE in the year 2007 and it was need of the hour to have plus 2 learning in the school. The first batch of plus 2 students of the school would start from April 2016 and the first batch will appear for CBSE class 12 exams in March 2018.
Mrs. Gill further said, �We have 120 seats with three sections (Pure science, Bio science and commerce) for plus 2 with 40 students in each section. Forms for admission to plus 2 will be distributed on 30 November and 1 December, 2015 at the school premises�, she added.
Alokananda Bakshi, vice president of AIWC & School�s Co-ordinator, said, AIWC Academy was a Hindi medium school before it was converted to English medium in the year 2003. The school is moving forward to academic strength and proficiency and the new block constructed with the help of Tata Steel would accommodate plus 2 students, Mrs. Bakshi added.
Mr. Gill further informed that the total strength of the school is 1710 and 109 students will appear for CBSE class 10 in 2016. �The new plus 2 building is well designed and incorporates the latest building improvisations and innovations.
The ground floor has three rooms and well equipped physics & chemistry lab and a hall with a capacity of 200 people. The first floor has seven rooms and a well equipped Bio lab. A well equipped library and a computer lab with 29 computers are important features of the plus 2 section�, principal added.
The nominal fee structure of the school is added advantage for the parents to send their wards to AIWC Academy which has most number of BPL students studying. Students seeking admission to plus 2 will have to appear in the entrance exam, Mrs. Gill signed off.
