With 8 new corona positive in Jamshedpur, tally swells to 171

Jharkhand Corona tally cross one thousand mark


84 new cases including 8 from Jamshedpur up state COVID-19 graph to 1020


Jamshedpur, June 6: Eight new� coronavirus cases were reported in Jamshedpur on Saturday, June 6 taking the tally in East Singhbhum to 171, the highest in the state among 24 districts.�Of the 8 new positives, 6 have travel history while two have been found from contact tracing. All the new positives in Jamshedpur were in institutional quarantine which means there won’t be a need to declare any Containment zone in the district. All the positives have been shifted to COVID-19 wing of TMH.�A good news also came in Jamshedpur on June 6 when five patients tested negative and were discharged from the hospital.�Seraikela also reported one positive after a person’s swab sample tested positive at MGM Hospital. Total cases in Seraikela has reached 20. West Singhbhum district also reported 5 new cases on Saturday which has taken the corona count in Kolhan to 200. On the other�hand Jharkhand on Saturday reported 84 new cases taking the state corona tally to 1020. The new cases in the state are 20 from Ramgarh, 32 from Simdega, 5 from Chaibasa in West Singhbhum, 8 from Jamshedpur, 4 from Ranchi, 3 from Hazaribagh, 1 from Seraikela, 2 from Latehar, 7 from Gumla and 2 from Palamau. Earlier on June 5 state saw corona blast when 93 cases� came up in a single day.�

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare the total number of Covid-19 cases in the state has increased to 1020. The death toll has climbed to 7. At least 410 people have recovered from the disease in Jharkhand while 519 active cases are there in the state.

Sahebganj has become the 24th district in the state to be infected with COVID-19 virus. One case has been reported from Sahebganj. Most of the corona positives are migrant workers. Most of the positives in East Singhbhum have travel history and have returned from other states.
Earlier on Tuesday, two intern doctors at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) were found to be Covid-19 positive, health officials said, adding that they had a recent travel history.
East Singhbhum district accounts for 171 cases respectively out of a total of 1020. 

A total of 5,415 people, who returned to the state recently, are under surveillance and asymptomatic, while 4,084 have completed the 28-day observation period.
While 91,765 people are in various quarantine centres, 2,91,828 people are in home quarantine, the bulletin said.
The recovery rate of Covid-19 patients is 44.94 per cent in Jharkhand and the mortality rate is 0.7 per cent, it added.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.
