With 283 new cases, Jamshedpur’s Covid tally crosses 50,000

City records 283 infections, 411 recoveries, 8 deaths 

Jamshedpur, May 31: Jamshedpur  on Monday crossed the 50,000 mark in terms of the total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the beginning of the pandemic. The 283 new cases reported on Monday took the district’s tally to 50,131.

After a dip in positive cases for six days, the daily positive cases and deaths rose in Jamshedpur on Monday with 283 fresh cases and 8 deaths. Jamshedpur registered more recoveries than fresh Covid-19 cases on Monday when 283 new cases were detected and 411 people recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, according to the health bulletin. The recovery rate has climbed to 96.04 % while the active cases have come down to 1224.

Jamshedpur recorded 283 positive cases while 411  people recovered of the virus on Monday pushing the recovery mark to 47885.

Deaths due to the virus continue to be sign of worry as 8 people succumbed due to Covid on Monday, May 31, East Singhbhum Covid bulletin said.

During this period, a total of 5739 Covid 
tests were conducted in Jamshedpur.

City reported 8 deaths on Monday while district’s positive cases tally has mounted to 50131. According to the data provided by the East Singhbhum district health department on Monday 8 fatalities were due to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours. The death toll has climbed to 1022.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 345675 test per million in the district. Sakchi locality of Steel City reported maximum of 15 cases Covid  on Sunday.

As per the records of health department  out of 5739 people who underwent Covid tests in East Singhbhum 283 were found positive.

As many as 47885 people have recovered from COVID-19 so far with 411 recoveries recorded in the last 24-hours. Over 5500 COVID-19 tests, including 1705 RT-PCR and 3702 RAT were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.

The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 96.04 % while the mortality rate is 2.04%.

So far in Jamshedpur 922337 samples have been collected out of which 920186 have been tested and 870055 have turned out to be negative.
