Jamshedpur, Feb 14: February 2024 edition of Johar Haat, a Tata Steel Foundation initiative, kicked off today. This edition is themed on festivals of “Baha & Maghe”.
The two festivals denote the essence of “Spring Season” in our life and reflects the close connection of human being with nature. Keeping this feel and touch this time, the Haat will be consisting of nature grown products such as herbal oils, leafy powders, massage oils, hair oils etc. Evenings will be accompanied by Samuday Ke Sath (SKS) movie screening.
Total 23 participants from four states–Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Karnataka– representing 5 tribes (Hakki Pikki, Ho, Munda, Oraon and Santhal) are participating in this edition of the Haat.
During the week, several workshops on jewelry making, a sessions on uses of essential oils and their benefits and preparation of a few tribal cuisines will be conducted. Special tribal cuisine based on “Baha and Maghe” festivals will also be available at the Haat.
