Jamshedpur: Bhojpuri singer turned BJP leader Manoj Tiwari, who is also a Member of Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture on Tuesday promised that he will take up the issue of poor NH 33 stretch with Union road transport, highways ministry. Addressing a press meet he said that apart from being Delhi BJP State president he is also a member of standing committee he is aware of the present plight of the road and will present a report
“I have prepared a report on the present situation. Though a CBI probe has been called on the delay of the construction of road but still on my behalf I will raise the matter with the ministry concerned. I came from Ranchi by road and I can very much feel the need,” said Tiwari, who reached in the city yesterday to participate in a cultural function organised to mark the last Monday of holy month of Shrawan.
Talking about the regional cinema witnessing a boom time in the country, Tiwari said that the popularity of Bhojpuri songs and films have crossed the border and reached the global world. According to Tiwari every Indian should be proud of this achievement.
“Not just Bhojpuri cinema, but I’ve been toiling tirelessly to promote Bhojpuri all over the world wherever there’s sizeable Bhojpuri population, like in Mauritius and Surinam. I feel the traditional songs and films have a lot to with my popularity and the popularity of the Bhojpuri ‘bhasha’ (language) among Indians abroad,” says the actor in Hindi.
He further said that some of the singers have brought bad name to the singing fraternity by promoting vulgar songs over the last few years.
“There is no denying the fact that cheap songs do have a place in the market however, in the long run they fail to stand the taste of music listeners,” said Tiwari.
The BJP MP also attacked Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu for his hug to Pakistan Army chief at the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.
” We have no issues with his Pakistan visit, but the former test cricketer has ditched our martyrs by sitting beside Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) “president” and hugging Pakistan Army General Qamar Javed Bajwa,” Tiwari noted.
The famous Bhojpuri singer-turned politician demanded immediate dismissal of Sidhu by Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amrinder Singh from his cabinet.
