Wildlife Week celebration begins at Tata Zoo today

Jamshedpur, Sept. 29: Tata Zoo will be celebrating the much anticipated �Wildlife Week 2019� from September 30 to October 4 this year.  Zoos throughout India are known to organize and conduct various activities to increase the awareness regarding the necessity for nature conservation and the preservation of wild floral and faunal diversity of the country.

Activities will include Best Eco Club Teacher Award 2018-19, Essay Writing Competition (both in Hindi and English), Quiz, Debate, Fancy dress parade, bicycle rally �A Rally for Nature� and an on the spot drawing competition. During this week more than 1500 school students are expected to participate in the various events and programs.

Quiz Competition on wildlife, biodiversity and nature conservation will be held on September 30.

Inauguration and prize distribution for the Best Eco Club Teacher Award, Essay Writing Competition in English and Hindi categories and Quiz Competition will be organised on day 2.

On October 2 Debate (English & Hindi) contest on the topic English-Utilization of Forest produces as livelihood is safeguard to nature conservation.  Hindi- Ajivika ke rup mein ban ka upyog prakriti sangrakshan ke liye surakshit hain will be organised.

Fancy Dress Parade relating to Animals & Plants is scheduled for October 3 followed by on-the-spot painting competition and closing ceremony on October 4. Chief Guest for the inaugural function was Dr. Abhishek Kumar, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Jamshedpur, Govt. of Jharkhand. Guest of Honor will be Chandramouli Prasad Sinha, Deputy Conservator of Forest & Field Director, Jamshedpur. Chief Guest for the closing ceremony will be Bineet Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of  Education, East Singhbhum.
