Wife hid in well after murdering her husband, confessed to crime   

Dhanbad: A dispute between husband and wife over some issue turned fatal and the wife killed her husband. After the murder, the wife hid near a well in the village. The police were investigating the entire matter considering the wife as absconding.

The incident took place in Telipada Damodarpur area of Sadar police station of Dhanbad city. Ajit Hansda was a mason by profession. His wife Saraswati Devi and two children were at home. The wife’s maternal home is in Nirsa. They were married five years ago.

After dinner at night, there was a heated argument between the husband and wife over some issue following which wife Saraswati Devi attacked her husband and killed him.

After some time, on the information of the villagers, the police reached the area againand found Saraswati Devi hiding in a well. After this, with the help of local people, the police inserted a wooden ladder tied with a rope into the well and the accused woman came out of the well. Local villagers were angry on seeing the accused woman and the police calmed them down somehow. The police took the accused woman into custody and sent her to Sadar police station.

Talking to reporters, the woman said that Ajit did not want to live with her and did not give the money he earned. He used to say earn your own and eat your own. A fight had started regarding this matter. The accused woman told that she killed her husband with a sickle kept nearby.

Regarding the fight between husband and wife, their four-year-old son Arya yesterday said that there was a fight between his mother and father over some issue. “When I woke up, my mother scolded me and made me sleep. Meanwhile, the door was also opening and closing again and again. When I woke up in the morning, my mother was not there and my father was covered in moonlight, so I thought he was sleeping. If I woke him up, he would get angry, so I left him.” When the child was asked whether there was anyone else with the mother, the child said that he did not see anyone.

• The police are investigating this entire matter. If police sources are to be believed, there is every possibility of some other person being involved in this incident. It is suspected that some other person is the reason for this fight. Although Ajit Hansda’s mother denies any dispute between her son and daughter-in-law, she definitely said that her son was murdered by her daughter-in-law.
