Jamshedpur, Dec. 19: It is that time of the year again when as the winter sets in, exams tend to get over and people bask in the festive mood of Christmas and New Year, The Graduate Engineer Trainee (G.E.T) Club is all set for �Wheels 2016�, the biggest cultural fest of Jamshedpur, to be held from 8 to 10 January, 2016.
Wheels, the much awaited cultural fest is here to regale one and all. The fundamental objective of fest is to showcase talent and encourage the youth. First rolled out in 1987, this year the theme for 29th edition of Wheels is “Anveshan- Explore the Unexplored”. “Explore the talent within”. The fest will provide a platform, to discover the hidden talent and channelize it through excellence. The stage is set to showcase one’s strengths and realize their true potential.
Events at the 3-day fest includes cultural activities such as Dance, Vocals, Instrumental, Band performance, Rangmanch, Nukkad; educational activities such as Quizzes, Creative writing, SpellB along with Chittransh) Collage making and face painting) , Wordament, Pixel Canvas, Clash of the bands, Illuminati (Creative Poetry), Lights Camera Action(Movie-making) & Workshops – Rubik’s Cube, Dance, Roll a Coaster, Construction stimulating creative genius.
Moreover the Cyber events like NFS and Counter-strike wouldn’t be left out too. With this scintillating line up of 30 events Wheels attracts participation and footfall in thousands. Schools, colleges, corporate houses and various clubs of-Jamshedpur will take part with enthusiasm in this extravaganza.
This year seven new exciting events like TataMUN, CARnama, Comicon, Adzapp, Kai Po Che, Chamber of Secrets & Build it and four new workshops like Rubik’s Cube, Dance, Roll a Coaster, Construction.
Prelims for the event will take place on 21st, 22nd & 23rd day of December in Engineers’ Hall, Telco Recreation Club and Telco club ground. Registrations for prelims went close to 7000 and the participation is expected to be better than last year.
On 8 January, Ronkini Gupta and Band – A trained classical Vocalist, Fusion artist, Composer and writer who hails from Jamshedpur will perform.
On January 9, Lagori judging Clash of Bands accompanied with their performance. On the Final night (10 Jan) Sumant Mulgaokar Stadium will be electrified by the mesmerizing performance of Suraj Jagan.
