Chaibasa, Aug. 4: The demonstration program of water supply, drain water, beatification of ponds, hand pump, water level related schemes through power points under city investment plan was organized by Feed Back Infra Private Limited, on Thursday. West Singhbhum deputy commissioner Dr Shantanu Kumar Agrahori chaired the meet at his office here.
The DC also took the stock of the progress of the construction of 1505 toilets under the Swachhata Mission. City manager, Chaibasa, said that ward no 14 and 19 have been declared as ODF wards in this connection. The DC, however, wanted the list of the houses on latest status of the ODF wards. But the concerning authorities could not give precise figures of old and newly constructed toilets.
Agrahori directed the city manger to submit a report of all wards and the list of existing toilets.
Meanwhile, the authorities concerned reported DC that a total of 1007 applications were received and 884 were accepted and the work for 450 has been started. Agrahori was very much displeased over the way work has been done and directed them to comply as per the rule to complete the construction of toilets.
The executive engineers said that they are facing land problem for the construction of community toilets. The DC directed the officers to construct community toilets at cremation ground and asked them to maintain cleanliness at bus stand area.
Those present at the meeting included Nagar Parishad president Nila Nag, ward members, executive engineers, SDOs of Jagnnathpur and Chakradharpur, the plan presenter of the town Satyajit Roy Gupta, deputy manager Town Planer Ajay Bhatt and Mirtunjay.
