Jamshedpur: Recovery made by security forces has averted a potential attack as two powerful Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were discovered and neutralized during an extensive anti-Naxal operation in the Kyalko and Golkonda regions. The joint operation, led by Jharkhand Police and CoBRA 209 Battalion, along with CRPF units from 60 BN, 197 BN, 174 BN, 193 BN, 134 BN, and 26 BN, successfully dismantled a deadly plot planned by Naxal insurgents. The strategic and timely recovery included: One IED weighing 20 kg and another IED weighing 5 kg.
The explosives were carefully planted near the Goak and Rosako Road, a known vulnerable zone, aimed at targeting security patrols and causing mass casualties. Security forces, displaying exceptional vigilance and tactical expertise, detected the hidden IEDs and safely defused them, preventing any potential damage.
The operation was launched following credible intelligence inputs about the movement of top Naxal leaders, including Milsi Besra, Anmol, Monu, Ulhas, Ajay Ekka, and Sakso Vangaria, who were suspected of orchestrating violent activities in the region. Acting swiftly, a coordinated security team was deployed, covering the rugged terrains and dense forested areas surrounding the Goak Police Station and extending into the Golkonda region.
To counter the imminent threat, an integrated security force was mobilized, including: Jharkhand Police, CoBRA 209 Battalion and CRPF Units from 60 BN, 197 BN, 174 BN, 193 BN, 134 BN, and 26 BN
The joint task force launched a meticulous combing operation, systematically covering sensitive pockets and potential hideouts to ensure comprehensive area domination and security.
The security campaign specifically targeted intercepting the movements of prominent Naxal commanders, including Milsi Besra, Anmol, Monu, Ulhas, Ajay Ekka, and Sakso Vangaria, who are known to be key operatives behind recent insurgent activities in the area. Their strategic maneuvers and guerrilla warfare tactics have long posed a challenge to security agencies operating in the region.
“ The successful recovery and neutralization of the IEDs mark a significant victory in the ongoing battle against Naxal insurgency in Jharkhand. Security forces remain on high alert, continuing the anti-Naxal operations with intensified vigilance and a fortified security grid across the affected regions,” said an official.
