We Must Be Clinical Against NorthEast: Jamshedpur FC head coach Owen Coyle

Jamshedpur, March 12: Jamshedpur FC head coach Owen Coyle and midfielder Nikola Stojanović expressed confidence ahead of their upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) match against NorthEast United FC during a pre-match press conference held at Flatlets in Jamshedpur on Wednesday.

Addressing the media, Coyle said every match in the ISL is a tough challenge, whether played at home or away. He noted that the team recovered well after the previous game in which Jamshedpur FC had to play nearly 80 minutes with ten men. “The players showed discipline, determination and a strong winning mentality. Now we are preparing for another difficult match against NorthEast United, who have very good players and an excellent coach,” he said.

Responding to questions about the forward line not scoring many goals, Coyle dismissed concerns and stressed that football is a team game. He praised players like Madi Talal and Messi Bouli for their overall contribution to the team’s performance. “Winning matches is more important than individual goal tallies. The squad has shown great unity and teamwork,” he added.

The coach also mentioned that there are a few minor injury concerns which will be assessed before the match. However, he confirmed that Vincy Barretto will miss the game due to suspension. Coyle expressed confidence that other players in the squad are ready to step up and perform when given the opportunity.

Speaking about the strategy for the match, Coyle said NorthEast United is a well-organised team that does not give away many chances. He emphasized the importance of maintaining possession, moving the ball quickly and converting opportunities in front of goal. “Away matches are always challenging, but we are confident if we play to our potential,” he said.

Team Spirit in the Squad Is Very Strong: Nikola Stojanović

Midfielder Nikola Stojanović also spoke about the positive atmosphere within the squad following recent results. He said the team spirit is strong and players support each other both on and off the field. “Different players contribute in different matches through goals, assists or defensive work. We are enjoying our football and want to continue winning,” he said.

Stojanović also acknowledged the support of fans despite playing away matches without them in the stadium. He said messages and encouragement from supporters motivate the players. The midfielder added that he feels happy and comfortable at Jamshedpur FC and is fully focused on helping the team achieve its goals this season.
