Gamharia, Aug 25: Intermittent rains over the past three days have seen to the water logging of the Jamalpur Basti road in Satvahini which is in Gamharia Ward 2 under the Adityapur Municipal Corporation. The problem is such that people of the locality can hardly step out of their houses. People have to go the the Gamharia market or to the industrial are but for the difficult road conditions, they have to take a detour that entails extra two kilometers. This road passes between Mangalam City and Vinayak Garden areas. Formerly, the water used to be drained out via the government land but with that part being bounded by the Vinayak Garden residential complex, water logging during monsoons has become a perennial issue. Recently, the Jamalpur Basti residents led by Parshad Pinky Chowdhary had met the CO and handed a memorandum demanding removal of encroachment from the government so that water could be drained out. But no move has been made by the administration as a result of which the people are living with the multiple woes of the waterlogged road.
