Jamshedpur, July 31: Water supply to more than 800 households of Jemco Azad Basti was inaugurated on Wednesday by Chief Minister�s representative Pawan Agrawal who opened a tap in the house of Paramjeet Singh, a local resident.
Addressing the gathering, Agrawal said the state government had fulfilled its promise of supplying piped drinking water to all households in the locality. With the inauguration of the water supply, the water woes of local residents would become a thing of the past, he said.
Agrawal appealed to the residents to save water and also conserve it by making pits for rainwater harvesting in their households so that the underground water table level goes up. He said the people should not waste water as it is precious for everyone.
Among others present on the occasion included Deepak Jha, Rakesh Rai, Manoj Srivastava, Jogendra Singh, Srinivas and Pummy.
