Jamshedpur, Dec. 8: Five places in Jamshedpur have been selected for the forthcoming state-wide water sources cleanliness drive from December 13 to 20. These places include Baroda Ghat, Bodhanwala Ghat, Doumuhani, Ghat # 5 Shastrinagar and Gandhi Ghat.
While where Ashok Singh and Veenanand Girka have been made the convener for the drive at Baroda Ghat in Baghbera, cleanliness at the Bodhanwala Ghat in Bistupur will be supervised by Rajkumar Shah. Mukul Mishra and Sukhdev Singh are conveners for Doumuhani in Sonari, while Chitranjan Verma has been appointed convener for Ghat # 5 at Shastrinagar in Kadma. Umashankar Singh and Raghvendra Pratap Singh will supervise the work at Gandhi Ghat.
The campaign will kick off on Sunday, December 13, at these places simultaneously with seminars, rallies and pamphlet distribution. This was informed by Ashok Goyal, treasurer, Yugantar Bharti.
Water samples will be collected from these places on 14 and 15 December, while pollution reports will be submitted to deputy commissioner and officer of notified area committees on December 16 and 17. Environmental panchayat will be organized at these five places on December 18 to take several decisions related to water sources cleanliness.
On December 20, an environment panchayat will also be held at Sidrol in Ranchi where people from all over the state working in the environment sector will converge and decide about the future course of action.
