Chandil: The people of Bhadudih village under Bhadudih panchayat of Chandil are forced to drink from the local pits every day.
They are compelled to do so due to absence of a fully-functional handpump in the village.
They alleged that the only handpump in the village had not been repaired despite availability of a fund of Rs 40,000 with the mukhiya and jal sahiya.
They said they had requested the mukhiya and jal sahiya to do something to solve their water problem, but all efforts went in vain.
The villagers said the MLA of Ichagarh Arvind Singh had installed a refrigerator at Chowka Market for providing cool drinking water to the people.
They said they were still deprived of drinking water.
