Wanted in loot-murder, Rafique arrested from Bistupur market

Jamshedpur: Police here on Thursday arrested one Mohammad Rafique in connection with a number of crimes including loot and murder committed across the city. They also confiscated cash worth Rs 11,000 from the possession of the accused.

Police officials said the accused was arrested from Bistupur market late yesterday night. They said Rafique, a native of Rafiganj police station area in Bihar, was wanted in as many as 10 cases of cash and vehicle loot, Arms Act, theft and murder.

Rafique had allegedly looted cash worth Rs 2 lakh from a fish trader under Bistupur police station area on 16th October, 2016.

In another major crime committed on 15th May last, the accused had looted a two-wheeler and cash worth Rs 1.62 lakh from a person under Parsudih police station area. He also looted cash from a Parsudih Haat trader in Sundernagar police station area on 22nd May last.

Police officials said the arresting of the accused was a breakthrough as it would enable them to take several pending crime cases to their logical conclusion.
