Jamshedpur, Feb. 19: The body of a 35-year-old criminal Wasim alias Bunty was recovered by the police from Muchurgora Tola near Kapali outpost under the Chandil police station on Friday morning.
Wasim’s body was in a mutilated condition and a knife was pierced in his stomach. His family members told the police that Wasim didn’t came home for several days and they were unaware as to who had committed the crime.
The body was identified by the locals of the area. According to police, Wasim came out of the jail just six months back after being sentenced for four years.
Meanwhile, the Chandil police have taken the body under its possession and sent it for postmortem to MGM medical College. According to sources, several cases were registered against Wasim with the Kadma and Azadnagar police stations in the city.
On Friday morning, a relative of Wasim informed his family members and the police about the recovered body. One of his family members said, “No relative or friend was in touch with Wasim after he took to crime.”
The Chandil police informed that after they receive the postmortem report comes they would be in a condition to tell as to how Wasim was murdered.
Police are of the view that Wasim was stabbed following a scramble with someone.
It may be noted that Wasim alias Bunty had long standing relation with the crime world and police was hunting him in connection with several cases, including one wherein he fled from lockup in Kadma police station.
