Walkathon marks Income Tax Day in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: The Income Tax Department, Jamshedpur, organized Income Tax Day on July 24 under the aegis of the Central Board of Direct Taxes. The event featured a range of activities including a painting competition, slogan writing competition, chess competition, and carrom competition.

The day’s program commenced with a Walkathon, led by Shishir Dhamija, IAS, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Jamshedpur, and N. Hemalatha, Additional Income Tax Commissioner. Bijay Kumar, Income Tax Officer (M), along with other officers and employees, participated enthusiastically.

In his address, Shishir Dhamija highlighted the progress made by the Income Tax Department and emphasized the department’s commitment to providing the best facilities to all taxpayers. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions, and meritorious children of department employees were honoured.

The event was a reflection of the department’s ongoing efforts to engage with the community and promote awareness about tax-related matters.
