W. Singhbhum gears up to tackle May 14 bandh

Chaibasa, May 11: West Singhbhum deputy commissioner Abu backer Sidhique and district superintendent of police Dr Micheal Raj held a joint press conference at the DC office following a meeting with police inspectors, DSPs, RPF commandants and GRP officials in wake of the state-wide Band called on by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on May 14.

While addressing the local media persons on Wednesday, the DC said that the district administration has made elaborate security arrangements to tackle the bandh supporters.

If any activist found disturbing the public on road and causing traffic blockade they would be dealt in accordance with the law. DC added, �We are determined to stop and foil any untoward happening during the band in the district. The administration has also deputed video camera person to take footage at various strategic points in order to identify the trouble mongers.�

DC said that the railway police RPF and GRP have also been made alert to keep monitoring over the railway tracks, railway station, and railway asset as well as running of trains through the region. �We would not allow any undemocratic things during the bandh. No political activities would be allowed without prior permission from the administration on the day.�

SP Dr. Micheal Raj said, �We have ordered our police station in�charges to keep all format of vigilance during the bandh and any if any persons are found violating law and order, FIRs would be lodged against the persons involved in illegal activity.

DDC Anil Kumar Roy, trainee IAS Nancy Sahay, GRP, RPF, DSPs and police inspectors were present at the meeting.
