Voting should be made hassle-free for Divyangs: DC

Jamshedpur, July 30: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner cum district returning officer Ravi Shankar Shukla convened a meeting to discuss ways to make voting a hassle-free process for Divyangs (differently-abled persons). He directed district officials concerned to ensure all basic facilities including ramps at all polling booths so that Divyangs cast their votes without inconvenience. He said 50 polling booths should be earmarked for Sugam Shochalaya, specially built toilets for the differently-abled.

The DC said a one day workshop should be held with all booth level officers (BLOs) in the month of August. The annual calendar of the district election committee should be prepared, he said.

Others present during the meeting included Arun Kumar Singh, Laxman Prasad, Deepak Srivastava and Jaidev Choudhary.
