Jamshedpur: Tarun Mitra Mandal (TMM) held a meeting at Shastrinagar to discuss the ensuing Lok Sabha elections. The meeting was chaired by TMM central committee president Aftab Khan. Various suggestions came to light. Certain members complained that people found it difficult to look for the names in the booths and the in the voters� lists. This, they said, prevented many voters from casting their votes.
In his address, Aftab Khan said, �The way in which we give our efforts a push to gain our rights, in the same manner we have to discharge our responsibilities. Voting is our right and also our duty. In order to ensure a healthy democracy it is necessary to exercise our right to franchise.�
Regarding the difficulties faced as stated by TMM members present, Khan urged them to go to the government offices concerned and ensure that their names are registered. �The Election Commission has introduced a helpline # 1950 for information on polling,� he stated.
Aftab Khan informed that TMM patron Captain Tarun would guide the planned voting awareness campaign in and around the city.
The meeting was attended by Aftab Ali, Md Kalam, Zubair Khan, Md Mukhtar, Sajid Hussain, Asharfi Lal, Ayesha, Vijay Hansda, Manish Mukhi and others.
