Jamshedpur: National Votersí Day was celebrated at Karim City College on Wednesday. It started off with ĎLight, Lamp and Ballooní, an exhibition to mark the importance of the day. A number of contests were organized for the students.
The college premises was decorated with posters put up all over and the stage beautifully decked up for the event.
The chief guest of the occasion was the deputy development commissioner (DDC) Suraj Kumar. He spoke on the significance of Votersí Day and appealed to youths to spread awareness among young voters about their duties and rights.
Other guests present on the occasion included Ananya Mittal, Subodh Kumar, Manoj Kumar Ranjan, Gayatri Kumari, Rajeev Ranjan and Anita Kerketta.
The NSS volunteers welcomed the guests by presenting bouquets to them. A welcome speech was given by the college principal Dr Mohammad Zakaria.
The students of Kala Mandir and Karim City College also staged a street-play. A vote of thanks was proposed by the NCC programme officer Dr Anwar Ali.
