Voice of Humanity helps abandoned old woman get shelter

Jamshedpur: City-based social organization Voice of Humanity helped a 75 year old woman, Pushpa Roy, get shelter in the old age home at Baradwari, on Thursday. The woman was reportedly deserted by her brother-in-law and nephew.
Sources said the woman was found traveling in Gitanjali Express. She had boarded the train after being asked to do so by her brother-in-law and nephew, not knowing they had planned to abandon her. The old woman got down at Tatanagar railway station. Sensing her situation, a railway passenger informed Voice of Humanity members to seek help for her. The outfit members reached the station and found out the woman’s tragic story. The woman told them she was often tortured by her brother-in-law and nephew. She said her husband and son were no more.
After listening to the woman’s woes, the outfit members arranged for her meal and got her shelter at Nirmal Hriday Old Age Home. Among the outfit members who helped the woman included Hari Singh, Ajay, Vimal, Mohan, Vijay, Nisar, Shambhu, Manish, Mukund, Sikandar and Indrajeet.
