Jamshedpur, April 26: Vivekanand International School (VIS), Mango, organized a special awareness program on cervical cancer under the aegis of Rotary Club Femina, aiming to educate students, their mothers, and teachers about the disease and the importance of vaccination.

Renowned gynecologist Dr. Renuka Chaudhary and eminent laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Vinod S. Agarwal—also the founder of the city’s first IVF center ‘Sparsh’—were present as resource persons. They provided detailed information about the causes, symptoms, and preventive measures of cervical cancer. Emphasizing the importance of early vaccination, both doctors encouraged students and their families to be proactive about their health.

Representatives of Rotary Club Femina, Seema Kumar and Tajinder Kaur, also addressed the gathering. Seema Kumar urged students to get vaccinated and assured full support from Rotary Femina, while Tajinder Kaur highlighted the importance of women prioritizing their health and taking time for self-care.

School Principal Dr. Nidhi Srivastava motivated students to stay aware of their health and encouraged them to openly discuss any health concerns with their mothers and teachers. The program was conducted by teacher Shahnawaz Khan, who also delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the guests and participants for making the event a success.
