Jamshedpur, Dec. 12: As the Covid-19 induced restrictions have eased and cases are on the decline, city’s favourite hangout spot Jubilee Park is buzzing with picnickers.

Being a Sunday, people from across Jamshedpur and nearby locations thronged the Park to have gala time with their family and friends.

Places like Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary, Dimna Lake, Jubilee Park and Tata Zoological Park are flooded with picnickers these days as Covid-19 situation is undercontrol in district and state.

Kids were also seen enjoying their day out at Park and Zoo.

The zoo in the city, abounding in shade-giving trees, provides an ideal rendezvous for picnickers to eat in groups and watch the animals in captivity.

Arti Kashyap, a Sonari resident said, “It is after 18 months that we are visiting the Jubilee Park and hope that the new Covid-19 variant (Omicron) will not have much of impact and life continues to roll on without much of a hindrance.” Several visitors urged the people to follow Covid appropriate behaviour to keep third wave at bay.

Most of the crowd was seen wearing warm clothes as they entered the park as the Sun continued to play hide and seek. Weather has been warm across Jharkhand as we enter December mid. Last month of the year has been warm compared to previous years and there are no signs of cold wave.  The minimum temperature is hovering around 15 degrees Celsius in Jamshedpur which is five notches above normal.

Meanwhile, ever since the gates of Jubilee Park were reopened on July 15 for citizens especially the morning walkers, Jamshedpur is steeping out and is keen to get out of the closed spaces.

Later, the gates of park were reopened for movement of vehicles on September 26. The Park had been closed to the public on March 17, 2020 in view of the COVID threat.
