Tributes Paid to Founder JN Tata on Birth Anniversary

Jamshedpur: City residents gathered at Postal Park in Bistupur to pay homage to Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, the founder of Jamshedpur, on his birth anniversary. Leading the ceremony, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran and State Health Minister Banna Gupta honored the legacy of the visionary founder. Tata Steel MD TV Narendran and Tata Steel UISL MD Rituraj Sinha were present on the occasion.
Chandrasekaran, in his address, emphasized, “For me, visiting Jamshedpur is like visiting a temple. The significance of Jamshedpur is the spiritual nucleus of the Tata Group, where each year on March 3, inspiration is drawn to combat global challenges.”
Acknowledging the changing global landscape, Chandrasekaran conveyed greetings to employees and residents on Founder’s Day, underlining the Group’s commitment towards realizing its founder’s aspirations amidst evolving challenges.
“Our founder, Jamsetji Tata, envisioned a future where industry would be a force for positive change, and it is with great pride that we continue to uphold his legacy. In this occasion, we reaffirm our commitment to the principles of integrity, innovation, and social responsibility that have guided us since our inception. We will continue to work together with the community to build a brighter, more prosperous future for Jamshedpur and its residents,” Chandrasekaran said.
He highlighted Tata Group’s diversification beyond steel production into sectors like semiconductors and energy, emphasizing the imperative to minimize carbon emissions through green energy initiatives.
“With plans to ramp up steel production to 30 million tons in the near future and targeting 40 million tons within a decade, the Group’s focus is on sustainable growth,” Chandrasekaran stated.
He outlined ongoing pilot projects and strategic adjustments in response to shifting geopolitical dynamics, expressing gratitude to Jamshedpur’s citizens for their continued support.
The celebration culminated in a rally flagged off by Chandrasekaran, symbolizing Tata Group’s unwavering commitment to Jamshedpur’s development and its enduring bond with the city.
As Tata Steel founder’s 185th birthday was commemorated, the city adorned itself with festive decorations, exemplifying the enduring legacy of JN Tata’s vision.
