Gamharia: Vishwakarma community members of Gamharia Thursday threatened to boycott the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The announcement was made at a meeting convened today at Vishwakarma Bhavan. The meeting was chaired by the outfit leader Dinesh Sharma.
Sharma said Vishwakarma community has a population of around one lakh in Jamshedpur and Singhbhum Lok Sabha constituencies. But despite this, no political party has given ticket to any Vishwakarma community member so far, he said.
Sharma alleged that not much has been done for the community�s development and welfare. As a result, the community members feel neglected and deprived, he said.
Sharma said Vishwakarma community embers play an important role in nation�s progress but despite this many of them are still deprived of the benefits promised by various government schemes.
Among those present at the meeting included Ram Karan Sharma, PN Sharma, Suresh Sharma, GN Sharma and Shashi Sharma.
