Vishal Tusu Mela at Gopal Maidan on Jan 21

Jamshedpur, Jan 18: Like every year Jharkhand Vasi Ekta Manch is gearing up to celebrate Vishal Tusu Mela at Gopal Maidan on Wednesday, January 21.

The tribals in and around the city and specially those of Bengal and Orissa are expected to participate in large numbers at the harvest festival with traditional fanfare and gaiety.

Talking about the event Astik Mahato, Chief Organiser of the event said that the festival this year will pay tributes to former Dy. Chief Minister of the state Sudhir Mahato who died of a heart attack in 2014.

Mahato further said that during the fair Cash Rs 1 lakh will be given to the mother of slain Jamshedpur MP Sunil Mahato who is ailing from a disease.

Various social and cultural organisations are also preparing to organise Tusu Mahotsav. The annual Tusu mela at Gopal Maidan will be organised on Jan 21.

The event turns out to be a jamboree of tribal artistes and performers not only from Jharkhand but also from neighbouring states like Odisha and Bengal.

Astik Mahto speaking to the media said that Chowdal the competition Jharkhand, Bengal and Orissa state will be competitive. Several competition will be organized at the event and the winners will be awarded cash prizes.

Astik Mahato further informed that as the fair is not associated with any political party CM Raghubar Das along with other minister of the state and leaders of several political parties will attend the fair.

At the press meet Jamshedpur MP Vidhut Varan Mahato and MLA Ichagarh Sadhu Charan Mahato were also present.
