VIPs start poll campaign in state today

Ranchi: Campaign by various political parties is likely to intensify in the next few days for the first and second phase poll going to be held on 10th April and 17th April.

Bharatiya Janata Party national president Rajnath Singh will be addressing public meeting at five places in the state tomorrow while Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will be addressing two election meetings.

BJP�s Prime-ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will address public meetings in Kodarma and Palamu on 2nd April.

Rajnath Singh will be arriving in Ranchi tomorrow. He will visit Palamu, Chatra and Hazaribagh besides holding public meetings in Ranchi, party sources said. Dr Shailesh Sinha, state Congress spokesperson, said Rahul Gandhi will visit Godda and Gumla.

Narendra Modi will visit Jharkhand on 2nd April, sources said. Administrative preparations are on to beef up security arrangements before and during the visit of Modi.

Meanwhile, another VIP campaigner, Akhilesh Yadav, CM of Uttar Pradesh, will address public meetings in Chatra and Palamu on 4th April while Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee will address a meeting in Ranchi with film actor Mithun Chakravarty on 5th April.
