Villagers should take advantage of mango farming scheme on vacant land – Sanjeev Sardar

Jamshedpur, August 29: In Rasunchopa village of Potka Block, mango saplings were planted on Pradhan Majhi’s land under the horticulture scheme’s Birsa Harith Gram Yojna project of MGNREGA. On this occasion, chief guest Potka MLA Sanjeev Sardar and Deputy Development Commissioner Parmeshwar Bhagat planted mango saplings to commence the scheme in the village. They were followed by 112 women who took turns in planting mango saplings. MLA Sanjeev Sardar said that villagers should use their vacant land as mango plantations to take advantage of mango farming scheme under the MGNREGA project. The MNREGA scheme is at maintenance of horticulture for a period of five years at the end of which this scheme would provide a better source of income employment generation through sale of these fruits cultivated under the project. Laborers will also get employment under the orchid project. The MLA appealed to villagers to take advantage of the scheme by putting in their application at the panchayat or Block offices. Deputy Development Commissioner Parmeshwar Bhagat said that MNREGA was a better scheme for employment. “By joining this scheme, people can be employed throughout the year. There is a provision in this scheme that ensures one hundred days employment to each family in a year.”

 BDO Imteyaz Ahmed, Majhi Pargana Sushil Hansda, Mukhiya Sanjay Sardar, APO Akhilesh Kumar, Assistant Engineer Abhishek Nandan, Gram Pradhan Sashodhar Hansda, Junior Engineer Kaushalendra Kumar and James Hansda, Rozgaar Sevak Sukhdev Hembrom, Mitali Mandal, Ritu Raut, Ishwarlal Sardar and others were present.
