Villagers protest against water plant in Tiring

Jamshedpur: Hundreds of residents of Tiring village in Potka held a meeting on Sunday and decided to wage agitation against Indosagar water plant situated in the area.

They put up demonstration before the plant and said they would force the plant to close down. It was unanimously decided to organize a demonstration before the Potka block office on 26th May. They said the plant would result in drinking water crisis in the area.

Addressing the meeting, the village Mukhiya Ganesh Sardar and Zila Parishad member Chandrawati Mahato said the plant authorities had not sought the consent of the villagers before starting the plant. The gram sabha had also not given its consent to start the plant, they said.

Others present on the occasion included gram pradhan Manju Sardar, Sanatan Sardar, Shuru Sardar, Lakhi Munda, Anita Sardar, Rohin Sardar, Renu Munda and Narsingh Munda.
