Seraikela : In the name of repairing the Muramdih bridge, villagers of four villages have opened their front against the water left in the river filled in the Barudaro check dam. On Tuesday, hundreds of farmers of Asua, Chhota Paharpur, Namibeda and Sarangposi villages in the block area protested against the opening of gates to release the water of Barudaro check dam at Muramdih.
However, the authorities did not open the gate after the villagers protested. The farmers demanded no release of dam water till the standing paddy crop is ready. Barudaro reached the check dam under the leadership of fiery villager Sitaram Hansda and asked the irrigation department officials and the contractor to release the dam water after one month.
